Lucy Buckman, 80, of Saugerties
Lucy Buckman, 80, of Hilltop Road, Saugerties, died Friday, March 3, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 8, 1936, in East Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Alfonse “Fred” and Mary (Guido) Iconetti.
From 1979 to 1983, Mrs. Buckman owned Tony’s Place Restaurant in Kingston with her late husband, Billy. Afterward, she worked as a home health care aide and for various factories in the area. Mrs. Buckman enjoyed time with family and especially cooking; if she could feed people ... she was happy. Mrs. Buckman will also be remembered as someone who was always willing to reach out to those in need.
Surviving are three sons, William H. Buckman III and his wife Bonnie of Kingston, Kevin Buckman and his wife Kathleen of Illinois, and Gary Buckman of Saugerties; and two daughters, Toni Anzalone and her husband Peter of Brooklyn and Lori Pelham and her husband Warren of Saugerties. Eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
Her husband, William H. “Billy” Buckman Jr., died May 1, 2004. A brother, John Iconetti, and a sister, Teresa O’Bryan, died previously.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Lucy’s brotherin-law, Hank O’Bryan, for his support and care throughout her illness.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will take place Wednesday at noon at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum.
