City of Kingston
• Contraband: Julie Kogut, 37, of Saugerties was arrested Wednesday on charges of promoting prison contraband and possession of a controlled substance, both felonies, and a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Ulster County sheriff’s detectives said Kogut was taken to the Ulster County Jail following her arraignment in Saugerties Town Court on a drug offense. At about 9:45 p.m., detectives said, corrections officers found Kogut with crack cocaine and heroin during the booking process. Detective said Kogut will be arraigned on the new charges in Kingston City Court.
• DWI: Reed A. Karasik, 31, of Somerville, Mass., was arrested by state police at Ulster at 2:27 a.m. Saturday on North Front Street on a charge of drunken driving, a misdemeanor. She was released with a ticket for Kingston City Court.
• DWI: Avante D. Watts, 30, of Lake Katrine, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 2:43 a.m. Saturday on Pearl Street and was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeanor, imprudent speed, three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign, two counts of illegal signal, and a windshield tint violation, all infractions. Watts was released with tickets for Kingston City Court.
Catskill
• DWI: Brett M. Jaycox, 24, of Pine Bush, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 4:41 a.m. Saturday on state Route 32 on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. Further information was unavailable.
Hunter
• DWI: Lauren M. Thompson, 20, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Hunter at 4:23 a.m. Saturday on state Route 23A on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. She was released with a ticket for Hunter Town Court.
Livingston
• DWAI: Cheyenne J. Rex, 37, of Catskill was arrested by state police at Claverack at 11:20 a.m. Friday on U.S. Route 9 on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed driving, both misdemeanors. She was also ticketed for being an unlicensed driver, and was held pending arraignment.
New Paltz
• DWI: Jason D. Minard, 37, of Highland, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:43 a.m. Saturday on South Ohioville Road and was charged with drunken driving and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors. He was also ticketed for insufficient tail lamps, failure to signal and refusal to take a breath test, all infractions. Further information was unavailable.
• Fleeing: Daniel C. Profaci, 20, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Gardiner at 8:25 p.m. Friday and was charged with fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving, both misdemeanors; possession of marijuana, a violation; and the infractions of failure to obey a police officer, illegal signal and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was released pending an appearance in New Paltz Town Court.
Plattekill
• DWI: Lisa M. Milan, 48, of Hudson, N.H., was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:21 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 44/state Route 55 on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. She was held pending arraignment.
Shawangunk • Stolen property: Laura
Sipperly, 22, of Wallkill, and Christian Vogel, 22, of Middletown, were arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies Thursday and were each charged with possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Deputies said. Deputies said they and members of SUNY Ulster Public Safety conducted a preliminary investigation after a laptop computer was stolen from the campus of SUNY Ulster in Stone Ridge on Feb. 15. On Feb. 23, deputies said, they encountered Sipperly and Vogel trying to sell a stolen laptop computer in the town of Shawangunk. The two were arrested following investigative interviews at the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center, deputies said. Sipperly and Vogel were released with tickets to appear in Shawangunk Town Court.
• Contraband: Jeffrey Laroche, 32, of Wallkill, was arrested by state police at Highland at 11:16 a.m. Friday on McKendrick Road and was charged with two felony counts of promoting prison contraband and one count each of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana, a violation. He was held pending arraignment.
Wawarsing
• Contraband: Janile Whitted, 23, of Queens, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 2:05 p.m. Friday on Berme Road on a felony charge of promoting prison contraband. He was held pending arraignment.
Woodstock
• DWI: Patrick J. Crosbie, 54, of Oradell, N.J., was arrested by state police at Ulster at 9:40 p.m. Friday on a misdemeanor charge of drunken driving. He was released with a ticket to appear in Woodstock Town Court.
