Savannah Marie Carle, of Kingston

-

Savannah Marie Carle, born to Jeremy and Sarah Carle on April 13, 2016, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 4, 2017, at home.

Savannah was a fighter before she even entered this world. Her parents were given many different possibilities as to what to expect at Savannah’s birth. She was diagnosed finally with arthrogryposis, a big word with a lot of different outcomes. Her parents knew she would be born smaller than other babies at full term, but that all of her vital organs were in good standing and she would probably not need an extended NICU stay. Savannah was to be born via c-section on Thursday April 14, 2016, but decided she wanted to share her birthday with her twin uncles Jonathan and Joshua. She was a miracle. When she was born, Savannah was put on a ventilator at Vassar hospital. Her parents and family barely got to see, let alone hold her. In days to come she would be transferred to Albany Medical Center’s NICU. A Doctor there greeted her parents and gave them the warmest of welcome and assurances. She began by taking Savannah off of her ventilator and observing her with just some oxygen and heating lamps. She proved once again to be stronger than that. Despite her orthopedic and swallowing set backs, Savannah thrived in the Albany NICU. A feeding tube was placed, which caused some setbacks, but after several treatments she proved to be stronger again. Her three big brothers were unable to meet Savannah due to a flu ban in New York State. Once this was lifted at the end of May, her brothers finally got to meet her. It was soon after that she became even stronger, gained more weight, and was able to come home with her family. There were many trials and tribulations throughout the months but Savannah proved to be stronger than them all. She had therapy in the home by the most blessed of hands, that helped her to thrive and overcome many obstacles. She was overcoming so much until this tragic event. She was a blessing to all who came in touch with her. She shined with the light of the lord. A social media platform even had her touching lives in many different ways. She inspired everyone to see the light in any situation, no matter the odds.

Savannah is survived by her parents, Jeremy and Sarah Carle; her three brothers, Jordan Voss, Cameron Carle, and Logan Carle of Kingston; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Valerie Carle; maternal grandparents Oscar and Diana Carlson; her paternal great-grandparents, Robert Carle, Sr., and Marie Bergenn; her maternal great-grandparents, Dolores Carlson and Herb Petersen; her aunts, Kirsten Carle, Jessica Carlson, Sara Carle, and Alisha Carlson; and her uncles, Jonathan Carle, Joshua Carle, Oscar Carlson, Chris Nealon and Patrick Glass. She is also survived by her loving cousins Dilyn Carlson, Patrick Glass III, and Avivah Carle. Numerous loving great-aunts, greatuncles, and cousins also survive.

Savannah’s parents welcome all family and friends to celebrate her life at the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, 27 Smith Ave., Kingston, N.Y., 12401, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. with Pastor T. Vandyke presiding.
