Sharon J. Horan, 70, of Kingston

Sharon J. Horan, age 70, of Kingston, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at HealthAlliance Hospital, Kingston, N.Y. She was born on Dec. 10, 1946, in Port Jervis, N.Y., the daughter of the late Vincent P. and Jean E. Onofry Horan. Sharon retired as a communications manager/director at IBM, Kingston, after many years of dedicated service. Following her retirement, she owned and operated SJH Communications in Kingston and taught communications at Marist College in Poughkeepsie.

Sharon is survived by her sister, Jean M. Horan and her husband, Philip M. Schulp of Garrett Park, Md.; her niece, Gianna Schulp; her aunts, Diane Horan of Maineville, Ohio, Marlene Horan of Port Jervis, Dorothy Onofry of Port Jervis and Viola Thurston of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and several cousins. She is also survived by her beloved pet dog, “Quinn.”

She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Kingston and a member of the Kingston Rotary. She attended The Sisters of Christian Charity Convent in Mendham, New Jersey. Visitation will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 E. Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y. Prayers will be offered at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 46 Ball St., Port Jervis, N.Y. The Rev. Matthew Newcomb will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Jervis, N.Y.
