John Edward Teitter, 49, of Saugerties
John Edward Teitter, 49, of Elm Street, formerly of Atlanta, Ga., died Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Born July 24, 1967, in Kingston, he was the son of Eleanor Kinzelmann Teitter and the late Edward Teitter. He was a graduate of Saugerties High School, Class of 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Bang! hair salon in Atlanta, Ga., which Allure Magazine recognized as one of the top 25 hair salons in the country. He was proud to be a member of Mensa International. Besides his mother, of Saugerties, survivors include two sisters, Mary Martin and Sharon Staccio, both of Saugerties; three nieces, Cheryl Cooper, Woodstock, Ga., Emily Martin, Atlanta, Ga., and Amanda Martin, Saugerties; two nephews, Jeremy Staccio and Brian Martin Jr., both of Saugerties; and a great-niece, Ella Rae Cooper, Woodstock, Ga. Several aunts and uncles, lots of cousins, and many friends also survive.
John requested that everyone light a purple candle in his memory.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties. Friends will be received from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
