Elaine Tampone, 85, of Marbletown
Elaine Tampone, 85, of Marbletown, passed into the arms of our Lord on March 16, 2017. She was surrounded by her loving children at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, N.Y.
Elaine married Frank Tampone, the love of her life, in 1951, leading to a wonderful, love-filled marriage, bringing four children, Michael, Fran, Anthony and Frank, into the world. Although she had a number of jobs during her life, she was most proud of the volunteer work she did for the Church. In her early years, she volunteered at Our Savior’s Church in the Bronx, doing clerical work. In her years at St. Peter’s Church in Rosendale, she spent many years as “pizza lady” at the school, and was a proud and devout member of the Rosary Altar Society. She also had many years in the Marbletown Ladies Auxiliary. Elaine was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Frank Tampone; her two brothers, Donald and George Weinbrenner; her son, Michael McGrath; and her grandson, Michael McGrath.
She is survived by her daughter, Fran Anello and her loving husband, Mike; her sons, Anthony and loving wife, Debra, and Frank and his loving wife, Dina. She is also survived by her 13 other grandchildren: Lauren McPadden, Kristin Bauer, Anthony Tampone, Steven Anello, Jennifer Tampone, Jennifer McGrath, Loriann Cappello, Thomas Tampone, Angela Tampone, Kaytelyn, Alyssa, Andrew and Frankie Tampone. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Ryan, Kayla and Peter Ludwig, Darius McGrath, Jameson Howley, Michael and Charlie Bauer, Milo Steinard, Viviana and Arabella Cappello and “baby girl” Tampone-Kaiser, as well as 16 nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at George Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale, on Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 2 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Church in Rosendale on Monday March 20, 2017, at 10 a.m., with a Catholic burial immediately following at St. Peters Cemetery in Rosendale.
