Denise ‘Malika’ Bilal, 54, of College Park, Ga.
Denise “Malika” Bilal, age 54, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior at her home in College Park, Ga., on March 15, 2017.
She grew up in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; born to Jefferson A. Williams and Willie Beatrice Moore on Sept. 4, 1962.
Denise is a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School. Her outgoing personality served her well in her career in sales, interior design, and later as an entrepreneur in cleaning services. Denise is survived by her loving mother, Willie Beatrice Moore of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; devoted exhusband, Hassan Knox Bilal, Sr., of Mansfield, Texas; sons, Sameer Bilal of College Park, Ga., Hassan Bilal, Jr., of Mansfield, Texas; and sisters, Carolyn Roberts of Fort Worth, Texas, Lorraine Williams of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Sandra Williams of Rome, N.Y., Gwendolyn Green of Newport News, Va., Juanita Krenzel of Allen, Texas, Nadhirah Williams (Rafiq) of East Orange, N.J., Christine Williams of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and Kathleen Bailey (Tim) of Hyde Park, N.Y.; brother, Jeffrey Williams of Schenectady, N.Y.; stepbrother and sister, Kenny Reynolds and Floretta Hayles (Oppie), Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; grandchildren, Qassin Bilal, Malika Bilal, and Trezell Bilal; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
She was preceded in passing by her father, Jefferson A. Williams, and brothers, Joseph Williams and Lawrence Williams.
Ms. Bilal will repose 1011 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Historic Second Baptist Church, 36 Vassar Street, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., 12601. Funeral service at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. John Simon officiating. Interment at Wappinger Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.
