Senior Citizen Day to be held May 19

The Greene County Department of Human Services will host its seventh annual Senior Citizen Day from noon to 3 p.m. May 19 at the Freightmaster’s Building at Historic Catskill Point.

Representatives from the Department of Human Services will be on hand with information about services that are available through the department for those over the age 60, and local organizations and businesses will be in attendance with informational displays about services pertinent to older citizens.

Richard Brooks will be recognized as the 2017 Senior Citizen of the Year, and Edward Bloomer will be given the Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen Award.

The theme of the event is “’50s Sock Hop.”

The lunch menu will be hamburgers and hot dogs, and there will be singing and dancing.
