Medicare workshop at New Paltz library on April 6
Elting Memorial Library, 93 Main St., is hosting an “Intro to Medicare” workshop on Thursday, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Steinberg Reading Room.
Dan Calabrese will walk participants through a review of Original Medicare (Parts A and B), as well as Medicare supplements Plans (Medigap). He will discuss Medicare Part C (Medicare Advantage Plans) and how they differ from Original Medicare. Stand alone Part D (prescription drug plans) will also be discussed in detail, including the best way to pick one, the Medicare “Donut Hole” and getting help for covering the cost of expensive medications through New York’s EPIC plan (Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage).
Calabrese is an independent life and health insurance agent who lives in Lagrangeville. He specializes in Medicare and longterm care, as well as life insurance and represents most of the major as well
as smaller insurance carriers in the area.

Senior groups list meeting schedules
The Southern
Tier Seniors will meet Wednesday, April 5, for its monthly meeting at the Clermont Firehouse off of Route 9G, with doors opening at 11 a.m.
The spring luncheon is planned. There will be a cold cut platter. Members are asked to bring a dish to share.
The regular business meeting will be at noon. Dues will be collected. Members
are encouraged to bring a friend as part of the membership drive. A horse racing game will be planned.
The following trips are planned:
• May 9 through 11, a three-day show tour getaway to see “My Fair Lady,” “Jonah” and “Vegas Legends.” All shows are live on stage.
• June 29, A Blast in the Past. Tour a cottage from
the golden age, visit the Trolley Museum and take a boat ride.
