Late goal lifts Kingston to victory over Highland

Aidan LoBianco’s goal late in the game lifted Kingston High to a 5-4 win over Highland at Dietz Stadium.

Aidan LoBianco’s goal with 1:07 left in regulation lifted Kingston High to a 5-4 victory over Highland in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n match at Dietz Stadium.

Chris Hammond’s unassisted goal tied it at 4-4 for Highland with 3:32 remaining. The Tigers played a man up after a Highland penalty and they capitalize­d with Johnny Loughlin setting up LoBianco for the game-winner.

Highland went a man up with four seconds left, but a shot for the equalizer went wide.

Loughlin had two assists, Tiege O’Brien had a goal and one assist, Jack Uhl, Pete Collins and Drew Carpino also scored and Josh Timbrouck had an assist for the (2-0) Tigers.

Jesse Weaver with two goals plus an assist and Christian Canino also scored for Highland.

Trevor Hamm had four saves

for Kingston, while Highland goalkeeper Giorgio D’Angelo had 12.

Highland is home to Washington­ville on Tuesday. Kingston is back in action Thursday at Roosevelt.

Millbrook 14, Roosevelt 3

At Hyde Park, Bazzy and Zeke Kopilak each scored four goals to lead the Blazers.

Ryan Olmstead had three goals and two assists and Zeke Kopilak dished out three assists for (2-0) Millbrook. Mike Pasquale scored two goals and Dylan Madison had one in the

win.

Quin Winkler tallied twice and Kevin Wise had a goal and one assist for (02) Roosevelt.

Matt Castagnozz­i had 11 saves in goal for Millbrook. Matt Bertsche and Gabe Small combined for 27 saves for Roosevelt, with Bertsche stopping 21 of them.
