The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Town of Ulster
• Drugs: Justin A. Aurelio, 33, of Yonkers, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday on Washington Avenue and was charged with three counts each of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container, a violation. He was also charged with possession of marijuana, a violation, and with the infractions of driving a vehicle without insurance, illegal signal and a license plate violation. Aurelio was released with tickets to appear in Ulster Town Court.
Esopus
• Drugs: Desirae M. Williams, 32, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Highland at 4:30 a.m. Thursday on Broadway and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. She was released with a ticket to appear in Esopus Town Court.
Gardiner
• Drugs: Timothy S. Vertullo, 37, of Kerhonkson, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Route 44/state Route 55 on a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was released with a ticket to appear in Gardiner Town Court.
New Paltz
• Obstructing: Kevin P. Barry, 61, of New Paltz, was arrested by state police at Highland at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday on Kleinekill Drive and was charged with obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor, and with harassment, a violation. He was released with tickets to appear in New Paltz Town Court.
Olive
• DWI: Zachary R. Smith, 24, of Shokan, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 28 on charges of drunken driving, a misdemeanor, and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, an infraction. He was released with tickets to appear in Olive Town Court.
Rhinebeck
• Drugs: Dennis Anderson, 70, of Rhinebeck, was arrested by Rhinebeck police Wednesday and was charged with drunken driving, a misdemeanor, following a traffic stop in the village. He was issued tickets for Rhinebeck Village Court.
