City of Kingston

• DWI: Brian L. King, 24, of Poughkeeps­ie, was arrested by state police at Highland at 8:21 p.m. Sunday and was charged with two counts of misdemeano­r possession of a weapon following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 9W. He was issued tickets for Kingston City Court.

Town of Ulster

• DWI: Lorraine Trez, 68, of Kingston, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 7:55a.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on Ulster Avenue and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood alcohol content exceeding 0.08percent. She was issued an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.

• Unlawful imprisonme­nt, contempt, criminal mischief: Jonathan Reyes, 21, of Kingston, was arrested by the Ulster County sheriff’s deputies at 11:30p.m. April 2and was charged with unlawful imprisonme­nt, criminal mischief, and criminal contempt, all misdemeano­rs, and harassment, a violation, after deputies responded to a domestic violence complaint. Deputies said Reyes, in violation of a stay-away corder, struck the victim, prevented her from leaving the apartment and took her cell phone away from her. He was issued tickets for Ulster Town Court.

Lloyd

• DWI: Wallace Defreitas, 27, of Atlanta, Ga., was arrested by Lloyd town police on Friday following a traffic stop on U.S Route 44/state 55and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. He was released with tickets to appear in Lloyd Town Court.

• Drugs, petit larceny: James A. White, 37, of Poughkeeps­ie, was arrested by Lloyd town police on Saturday and was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeano­rs. White is accused of stealing about $355worth of merchandis­e from the Hannaford Store in Highland. He was also wanted on a bench warrant from the city of Poughkeeps­ie police for criminal obstructin­g breathing/blood circulatio­n. He was sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000bail pending a court appearance.

• Fugitive: Kevin L. Stanley, 29, of Highland, was arrested Monday by Lloyd police and charged as a fugitive from justice on a warrant out of Phoenixvil­le, Pa. He was also wanted on a bench warrant from Saratoga Springs. Stanley was sent to Ulster County Jail without bail pending extraditio­n to Pennsylvan­ia.

• DWI: Jason P. Ruddy, 24, of Kingston, was arrested by Lloyd town police on Tuesday, April 4, and was charged with misdemeano­r drunken driving following a traffic stop on U.S. Route 9W. He was issued tickets for Lloyd Town Court.

New Paltz

• DWI: Thomas M. Ahearn, 29, of Kerhonkson, was arrested Saturday by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies and was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeano­r criminal possession of a controlled substance and the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana. At about 4:20a.m. Saturday, deputies observed Ahearn engaging in what appeared to be a “hand-to-hand” drug transactio­n on Plattekill Avenue. Ahearn was found with a quantity of crystalliz­ed MDMA, Xanax pills and marijuana. He was sent to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000bail pending a court appearance.

Plattekill

• DWI: Haley Scott, 21, of Wallkill, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies at 3:55a.m. Sunday following a traffic stop on state Route 32 and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood alcohol content in excess of 0.08percent, both misdemeano­rs. He was issued tickets for Plattekill Town Court.

Saugerties

• DWI: Zachery C. Burns, 29, of 32Valk Road, Saugerties, was arrested at 11:21a.m. Sunday and was charged by Saugerties police with three counts of endangerin­g the welfare of a child and one count of criminal mischief, all misdemeano­rs, as the result of an domestic dispute during which Burns allegedly took a cell phone away from the victim in an attempt to prevent the person from calling 911for help. The incident allegedly occurred in front of three children, one two months old, one a year old and another 8 years old. He was released pending an appearance in Saugerties Town Court.
