Woodstock Meat High Steaks earns Over-30 victory

Brandon Backus had 30 points as Woodstock Meats High Steaks beat the Avid Flosserz 55-52 in a Kingston Recreation League Men’s Over-30 basketball B Division contest.

The game was closely contested throughout with the Flosserz holding a 2019 lead at the half, and the High Steaks holding a narrow 36-32 edge in scoring in the second to ease by with the win.

Kyle Needham scored 29 points and Phil Howarth added 11 to pace the Flosserz in the loss.

Devin McDermott scored 32 points to lift the Rock to a 53-46 win over UCSEA in other B Division action.

The Rock built a 29-17 lead at the half, and a 29-24 second-half edge couldn’t lift UCSEA to the win.

Fred Harris scored 18 points and Brandon Costello added 10 for UCSEA in the loss.

Devin McDermott and Dan Gill each scored 16 points as the Ballaz rolled to a 65-58 comeback win in a B Division contest.

Down 24-20 at the half, The Ballaz managed a 4534 scoring advantage that carried them to victory.

John Garcia added 13 points and Brian Garcia tacked on 12 for the Ballaz.
