Kingston tops Cornwall to remain undefeated

Kingston High’s boys lacrosse team keeps its record perfect, defeating Cornwall, 15-3, at Dietz Stadium.

Kingston High’s boys lacrosse team kept its record perfect Wednesday, defeating Cornwall, 15-3, in an Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n match at Dietz Stadium.

Johnny Loughlin scored four goals, Matt Amato had a hat trick and Pete Collins tallied one and distribute­d four assists to lead the (5-0) Tigers.

Manny Wilson and Drew Carpino each scored two goals, David Lattin and James Chiera had one apiece, Josh Timbrouck added a goal and one assist and Teige O’Brien also had an assist for Kingston.

Lattin was nearly perfect on faceoffs, winning 10 of 11.

Tiger goalkeeper Trevor Hamm had seven saves, while Cornwall’s Kyle O’Brien made 14.

Erick Cabreva scored twice and Jack Gaillard had a goal and one assist for the (1-4) Dragons. Highland 9, Pine Bush 1

At Highland, Roger Hegeman scored four goals to lead the (6-2) Huskies, who led 7-0 after three quarters.

David Wood, Mike Cerniglia, Ethan Esposito, Noah Babineau and Jack Frederick scored goals, while Jesse Weaver and Danny Rusk added four and two assists, respective­ly, in the win. Gior-

gio D’Angelo, meanwhile, made 12 saves.

David DeGroodt scored the lone goal, while Adam Winum stopped seven shots in the loss for the (15)

Bushmen. Middletown 9, Roosevelt 5

At Middletown, Sean Taylor had four goals and an assist, Ben Wali scored and dished out four assists, Matt Guattery had a hat trick and Noriel Brown also tallied for the (1-4) Middie’s first win.

Kevin Wise scored three

times and Christian Medina and Quin Winkler also connected for (0-4) Roosevelt.

Matt Bertsch had 18 saves for the Presidents, while Middletown’s AJ Smalls made 13. O’Neill 14, Wallkill 0

At Wallkill, Brian Kelly had three goals, Luke

Kilner and Donnie Feldman each had a goal and three assists, and Alex Evangelist­a added a goal and four assists to lead James I. O’Neill.

Aaron Florence had 10 saves in goal for O’Neill, while Wallkill’s Mason Tremper and Chase Hawkins combined for 18.
