School board races taking shape in area districts
School board candidate lineups are taking shape in local districts.
Voting across the region will be on May 16.
The candidates, so far, are as follows.
Ulster County
• Ellenville (three seats, three-year terms): Incumbent Willie Bruce, 7240 state Route 209, Wawarsing; John Burns, 18 Cherry Lane, Ellenville; Francis Gurgui, 205 Irish Cape Road, Napanoch; incumbent Philip Mattracion, 39 Maple Ave., Ellenville; incumbent Karen Osterhoudt, 1 Huguenot St., Napanoch; Cassie Spoor, 18 Clifford St., Ellenville.
• Highland (two seats, three-year terms): Incumbent Alan Barone, 26 Tillson Ave., Highland; incumbent Heather Welch, 117 Lily Lake Road, Highland.
• Kingston (three seats, three-year terms): Petitions not due until April 26.
• New Paltz (two seats, three-year terms): Incumbent Steven Greenfield, 6 Mountain View Place; Kathy Preston, 28 Apple Road; Teresa Thompson, 8 Spellman Drive.
• Onteora (three seats, three-year terms; plus one seat, one-year term): Former board member Rob Kurnit, 18 Webster Road; Woodstock; incumbent Laurie Osmond, 4988 Route 212, Willow; incumbent Bennet Ratcliff, 76 Striebel Road, Bearsville; Robert Burke Warren, 187 High St., Phoenicia.
• Rondout Valley (three seats, three-year terms): Former board member Breanna Costello, 450 Circle Ave., Kerhonkson; Kim Cohen, 46 Towpath Road, Accord; Chris Schoonmaker, 450 Mohonk Road, High Falls; Megan Snair, 330 Mettacahonts Road, Accord; Fallon Wynkoop, 2021 Queens Highway, Kerhonkson.
• Saugerties (three seats, three-year terms): Incumbent Krista Barringer, 1585 Route 212; incumbent Damion Ferraro, 55 Woodland Falls Road; Susan Gage, 9 Latham Circle; Alex Rappoport, 50 Post St.; incumbent Charles Schirmer, 119 Brink Road.
Northern Dutchess
