Baudendistel gets 100th career hit in Ellenville win
Ellenville High’s Teresa Baudendistel got her 100th career hit and also pitched a threehitter, leading the Lady Blue Devils to a 9-2 Mid-Hudson Athletic League softball victory over Dover.
Ellenville High’s Teresa Baudendistel got her 100th career hit and also pitched a three-hitter Wednesday, leading the Lady Blue Devils to a 9-2 Mid-Hudson Athletic League softball win over Dover.
Baudendistel got the milestone hit in the first inning, driving in a run for the (2-0) Devils. She struck out eighten route to the win. Ellenville scored five runs in the first frame, aided by Vanelys Malav’s two-RBI single. Madison Corvinus and Drew Bugna later added two-run singles.
Taylor Ketcyhin had a triple in Dover’s season opener. New Paltz 3, Marlboro 2
At New Paltz, Marlboro scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but the (2-1) Huguenots held on for the big Division II triumph.
Jill Harrison struck out 12, walked just one and threw a four-hitter for the win. Katie Finch, who had a pair of hits, walked and scored on JoJo Tanzi’s single in the second to put New Paltz ahead.
The Hugies made it 2-0 in the third when Anna McDuffie scored on Finch’s single. Allie Defoe tripled and was brought home by Katie Bennett.
Ashley Vaca doubled in one run and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh for Marlboro. Mel Papuli had two hits and Shannon Canuso also doubled for the Dukes. Roosevelt 16, Highland 7
At Highland, Madchen Knauss drove in three runs with a pair of singles, Elizabeth Miller had a two-run single, Katelyn Rose hit a two-run double and Sarah Zagorski had a single, two RBI and four runs scored to lead Roosevelt to victory. Elizabeth Gross had a double, two singles and one RBI, Brianna Palermo had a RBI double and Chloe Moretti doubled and scored three times for the Presidents.
Mia Beck singled twice and drove in two runs, Dakota Willow had a double and three RBI and Paige Dauenheimer hit a solo homer for Highland.
