Middletown sweeps to victory over Kingston
Jayson Hines won three individual events to lead Kingston High, which was swept by Middletown in an Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association track and field meet with Middletown.
The Middies defeated the Tigers, 80-61, in the boys meet and 85-55 in the girls.
In the boys meet, Hines captured the 800 (2:08), 1,600 (4:48.8) and 3,200-meter (10:31) events for Kingston, which also got individual wins from Witcliffe Cunningham (52.43) in the 400, Jack McDonough (42-9) in the shot put and Charles Robinson (19-11, tied for first) in the long jump.
The Tigers’ 3,200 relay of Andy Lopez, Bailey Ryan, Robert Becker and Ryan Kacur (8:30.09) and 1,600 relay of Lucas Lopez, Cunningham, Tyleaf McGiff and Becker (3:31) also won.
In the girls meet, Jaid Harrell (5-3) in the high jump, Grace Longendyke (14-10) in the long jump and Qyniece Hylton-Jackson (32-1) in the shot put earned individual wins for Kingston. The 3,200 relay squad of Clara Sensini, Grace Regan, Hallie Terbush and Maggie Noe (10:55) and 1,600 relay team of Noe, Kaliyah Lindsay, Vanessa Hill and Livi Longendyke (4:18) were also victorious.
