KINGSTON >> Margaret V. “Peggy” Gorman, 76, of Szymanski Street, Kingston, died Saturday, April 22, 2017, at HealthAlli­ance Hospital Broadway Campus surrounded by her family. Born Aug. 1, 1940 in Kingston, N.Y., she is the daughter of the late Sylvester “Sam” and Margaret “Peggy” (Kearney) Bujak.

An active parishione­r of Immaculate Conception Church, Peggy was a member of the church choir since the third grade. She was also a charter member and past President of the Church Guild, a charter member and treasurer of the White Eagle, Ladies Auxiliary, an adult advisor for the church Youth Club, a member of the Home School Associatio­n and served as Librarian at the Immaculate Conception School. For her work with the children, Peggy received the Cardinal Spellman Youth Award and the CYO Decade of Service Award. She was an avid reader, loved to crochet and make slippers for everyone, she enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables. Trips to the casino’s or to Saratoga Race Track were always some of her favorite things to do. Peggy also enjoyed playing the piano.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, John J. Gorman of Kingston; her children, John J. Gorman of Ossining, N.Y., Ellen M. Tiano and her husband Mark of Kingston, Bob Gorman and his wife Christina of Woodstock, Elaine Gorman of Kingston; and her grandchild­ren, Melissa Ann Tiano, Dr. Amanda Tiano-Davila and her husband James, Rachel and Eric Gorman. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

The Gorman family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday April 25, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral procession will form Wednesday 9 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Final prayers and commendati­on at the Wiltwyck Community Mausoleum. Inurnment in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The White Eagle Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a ritual at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
