Highland, Red Hook Saugerties triumph

Highland High outscored Rondout Valley 2-0 in the final quarter for a come-from-behind 7-6 Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n boys lacrosse victory on Tuesday.

Roger Hegeman and Michael Caso scored two goals apiece to lead the (7-2) Huskies, while Jack Young, Christian Canino and Jack Frederick added goals in the win. Danny Rusk and Jason Chlus had two assists each, while Giorgio D’Angelo made 10 saves for Highland.

Jason Perez (assist) and Jarek Rawl scored two goals each to lead the (44) Ganders, who led 3-1 at halftime. Tomas Ludwig (assist) and Matt Kelly scored goals, while Kyle Van Laer and Kyle Meoli had assists. Ian Houck stopped 14 shots in the loss. Red Hook 10, Roosevelt 6

At Hyde Park, Hudson Miller scored six goals, while Mike Gilderslee­ve added three goals and three assists for the Raiders.

Brian Kelly had a goal and two assists, while Ryan Hobson and Owen Sagerman added assists for (4-3) Red Hook. Gabe Yozzo, meanwhile, made eight saves in the win.

Kevin Wise scored four goals, while Quin Winkler (assist) and Owen Williams added goals for the (1-6) Presidents. Matt Bertsche stopped 15 shots in the loss. Saugerties 7, Maple Hill 4

At Maple Hill, Tavin Rell had four goals and an assist, Robbie Martin scored and also dished out three assists, and Tyler Swanson and Caleb Edwards also tallied to lead Saugerties to a non-league win.

Cole Cioffi scored twice, Cliff Chase and Seth Robert each had a goal off assists from Jack Sherwood, Andrew Fleck, Tai Ryan and Ben Sherwood for Maple Hill.

Matt Rivera stopped seven shots for Saugerties, while Kyler Randall stopped 21 for Maple Hill.
