Kingston tops Warwick, remains undefeated

The Kingston High boys team improves to 7-0 on the season with a 17-8 victory over Warwick.

John Laughlin scored four goals and had two assists and Josh Timbrouck scored four goals as Kingston High improved to 7-0 by defeating Warwick, 178, in an Orange County Interschos­tic Athletic Associatio­n boys lacrosse game Wednesday. The Tigers roared to a 7-0 lead at the end of the first and pushed that to 11-4 at the half. Kingston extended its lead to 14-5 in the third en route to the win.

“It looked like a blowout, but Warwick fought back,” Tigers coach Casey Westerman said. “It was good, clean lacrosse.”

Drew Carpino (three goals, two assists), Jack Uhl, (three goals), Pete Collins (one goal, four assists), Manny Wilson (one goal, one assist), Aidan LoBianco (one goal) and Eli Connors (one goal, one assist) led Kingston in the win.

Eric Ormsby (three goals), Jay Hrantz (three goals) and Jack Pennnigeon (one goal, two assists) were tops for Wildcats.

David Lattin went 18-24 in faceoffs the Tigers.

Trevor Ham registered 17

saves for Kingston, while Harry Dempster made 14 stops for Warwick. Roosevelt 6, NFA 2 At Hyde Park, Kevin Wise scored two goals and had two assists as the Presidents defeated the Goldbacks.

Trevor Sotanski, Gabe Small, Quin Winkler and Zach Algozzine each added a goal, and Owen Williams and Ian Velez each contribute­d an assist for Roosevelt in the win.

Terry Anderson and Brian Hernandez each scored a goal for Newburgh, while Jeongsuk Sun added two assists in the loss.

Matt Bertsche had nine saves for (2-6) Roosevelt, while Thomas Vasquez registered 14 stops for the (0-6) Goldbacks.
