- Freeman staff

The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County will hold several bicycling programs and events over the next few months, including the “Bike It!” youth education program.

Bike It! is for youths between the ages of 10 and 15. It consists of eight sessions held on Saturdays between April 22 and June 17, with the exception of Memorial Day weekend. Each session, from 9 a.m. to noon, will include instruction and a bike ride.

The cost is $40 for YMCA members or $60 for nonmembers, and scholarships are available so no one is turned away. Bikes and helmets will be provided, or youths can bring their own.

An adult bicycle education program called “Everyday Biking” will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 9, 16 and 23. Registration is $50, though scholarships are available. The course is for people who have been riding for years, or those just thinking about getting on a bike this spring.

A Mountain Bike Camp for youths between the ages of 12 and 15 will be held over two one-week sessions at the YMCA’s Camp Seewackamano in Shokan. The sessions will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10 to 14 and Aug. 14 to 18. The camp fees is $325 per week.
