Esopus

• Endangerin­g: John J. Ronk, 40, of Esopus, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at 11:21 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on New Salem Road and was charged with endangerin­g the welfare of a child, a misdemeano­r, and harassment, a violation. Deputies said Ronk struck a 3-year-old child, who was later evaluated by the Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad and was determined to have sustained minor injuries. Ronk was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 bail pending a court appearance.

Hunter

• Shopliftin­g: Brian J. Creasey, 43, of Haines Falls, was arrested by state police at Hunter at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday at the Stewart’s Shop on county Route 23A and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeano­r. Creasey was accused of shopliftin­g, police said. Further informatio­n was unavailabl­e.

Marbletown

• Drugs: An 18-year-old male from Middletown and an 18-year-old female from Port Jervis were arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 3:05 a.m. Thursday on U.S. Route 209 in Marbletown. The male was charged with misdemeano­r possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, a violation. The female was charged with misdemeano­r possession of a controlled substance. Both were released with tickets for Marbletown Town Court. They were not identified by police because of their ages.

New Paltz

• DWI: David T. Marchant, 23, of Wappingers Falls, was arrested by state police at Albany at 3:37 a.m. Thursday in the town and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeano­rs, and with inadequate muffler and fail to attach sticker to motor vehicle, both infraction­s. Marchant was released with a ticket for New Paltz Court.
