Matthew DiLauro, 66, of Palenville
Matthew DiLauro, 66, of Maple Grove Road, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Manhattan on June 17, 1950, to the late Joseph DiLauro and Sarah Kelly Laterza. After living in the Bronx and working as an EMT in New York City, he moved to the area in 1987 and began working with Diaz Ambulance. He was the CPR coordinator for the American Heart Association and a First Aid instructor. He was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He enjoyed singing with the Acapella Chimes and Tears of Joy Acapella Group. He had a passion for martial arts and held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. His hobbies included target shooting, studying medicine and playing the guitar.
Survivors include his wife, Regina Bossard DiLauro; daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Michael Sasso III, of Glasco; grandchildren, Alexis and Sienna; and sister, Bridget Mattera.
He was predeceased by siblings, Frank DiLauro and Edith Yolles.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral procession will form at 8:15 a.m. Monday at SeamonWilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties. Thence to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for a 9 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial will follow in Blue Mountain Cemetery.
