Rep. Faso an extremist

-

Dear Editor: My friends on the other side should rest assured that no one is coming to take away their guns, fishing poles or tree stands. It has never happened and never will.

Every mother’s son in this country has a bunch of guns, which, if they didn’t buy, were left to them by their uncle or father, etc. Heck, even I do.

We could argue about whether you need to own a .50-caliber rifle, but I don’t care that much.

On the other hand, U.S. Rep. John Faso, R-Kinderhook, who pretends to be a moderate guy, is actually an extremist aligned with those who would take away your parents’ Medicare, your grandmas’ Medicaid-funded nursing home bed, the help the kid in the wheelchair down the street with cerebral palsy gets and the insulin of your cousin’s kid who has Type 1 diabetes.

Faso and friends argue you would be better off on your own negotiating with insurance companies for the health care needs of your family. It’s a con. If Faso and his friends like Mo Brooks of Alabama and Louie Gohmert of Texas (states with some of the worst health care in the U.S.) have their way, we will have the same crummy system, and the taxes that pay for good health care will go to the wealthy.

So here is an offer — you help me and my side replace Faso in 2018 and I’ll agree you should have that Barrett 50.
