100 days of failure
Dear Editor: President Trump is the worst president in the first 100 days in modern history.
His Cabinet is filled with billionaires with no credentials or governing experience.
Most of the second level of government, like the undersecretaries who actually run the government, has not been filled, nominated or vetted for confirmation.
His anti-Muslim legislation by travel restriction from six Muslim countries has been stopped by the judiciary.
His wall on our southern border will increase the deficit.
He was able to get the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to Supreme Court by using the nuclear option that has eviscerated the Senate responsibilities.
His proposals for massive tax cuts will deplete tax revenue, further increasing the deficit.
The increase in military spending will further impoverish this great country.
His retreat of policies by Obama administration on global warming will bring more coal burning, increasing the cost of electricity.
Lifting Clean Water Act provisions will deteriorate our environment.
Deregulating financial regulations will make another economic meltdown a possibility.
We are closer to war in Syria and North Korea than ever.
Putin and Kim are empowered by Trump’s lack of grasp in international relationships.
Dropping the Mother of All Bombs in Afghanistan has increased Taliban attacks.
I have to grade his performance in the first 100 days a Dminus. We, as a country, have to brace ourselves for a very bumpy ride. Hold on to your pocketbook, health and your life. Thomas Koshy, Kingston
