William ‘Bill’ J. Gumaer, 61, of Saugerties

William “Bill” J. Gumaer, 61, of The Mill in Saugerties, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck, N.Y.

Born Feb. 19, 1956, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Arthur and Rosemary (Nelson) Gumaer.

William was a longtime employee of Walmart in Kingston, spending his last years there as the receiving manager. As a young man, he umpired at the Kingston National Little League. More recently, he enjoyed watching his favorite New York sports teams, the Knicks, Mets, and Giants, doing crosswords, and tinkering with watches and clocks. He loved animals, having many pets in his life. He was happiest playing with his canine companion, Chief, taking him for daily walks, no matter the weather.

Surviving are his brothers, John Gumaer and his wife Marlene, and Thomas Gumaer and his wife Louise, all of Kingston; his nieces and nephews, John “Jay” Gumaer Jr., Karen Seery, Kristin Gumaer, Stacey Wenzel, Laurie Richter and Christine Gumaer. He also leaves behind a wife, Johanna Gumaer of North Carolina; two stepdaught­ers, Larissa Garcia of Hudson and Jazzmine Hillje of North Carolina; and many close friends at The Mill.

Memorial and cremation arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com).

Memorial visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. A service will begin at 7 p.m.

TOWN OF ULSTER

>> Dana M. Bibeau, 42, of Juniper Lane, town of Ulster, died Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at home.

Born Sept. 8, 1974, in Staten Island, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Bibeau and Robin Ziegler.

Dana was employed as a beautician.

Surviving are her brother, Herbie Rogers IV (Brittany McGowan) of Ulster Park; her stepsister, Rebecca Pugliese of Kingston; and nieces and nephews, Lamarr Knox, Treshon Rashada, Jaden Rogers, Maddox Rogers and Peighton Rogers. Her canine companion, Chi-Chi, also survives.

Her stepfather, Herbie Rogers, died previously. Funeral and cremation arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (w w w.jvleahy f h.com). Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the New Progressiv­e Baptist Church, 8 Hone St., Kingston. A funeral service will begin at noon.
