Susan Nelda Fortner-Williams, 62, of Kingston, and most recently a shortterm resident of High Falls, passed away unexpected­ly on April 24, 2017, while traveling through Roanoke, Va.

Susan was born Feb. 2, 1955, in Kingston, a daughter of the late Jack B. Fortner and Anita Fortner.

Susan was a loving mother, grandmothe­r, and wife. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchild­ren, fishing, making crafts, and antiquing.

In addition to her husband, William H. Williams of High Falls, Susan is survived by her four daughters, Sherry Fagerstrom of Accord, Jennifer Blackmon and husband Dana of Kingston, Brooke Benter of Kingston, Tiffanie Hoffman of Kingston; and her son, Gary Hoffman of Kingston; nine grandchild­ren, Samantha O’Brien, Angelina Fagerstrom, Paulie Fagerstrom, Dayna Blackmon, Melody Blackmon, Natasha Torres, Toni Curry, Cierra Swortfigue­r, and Silas Sieber; great-granddaugh­ter, Autumn Farrell; sisters, Edna Williams and husband Daniel, Margaret Hadderman and husband Frank Drysdale; brother, Jack B. Fortner II and wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Meloney Bauer; very good friend, Valarie Blackmon; her dog, Lady; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predecease­d by her sister, Jackilyn Dale Waterman and her husband Dave.

A memorial for Susan will be planned at the family’s discretion.
