BASEBALL Camps Senators Baseball Camp: For ages 7-12 9 a.m.-4 p.m. July 24-28 at SUNY Ulster. Led by Ulster head coach Steven Morse. Camp focuses on basic fundamenta­ls in addition to intense work on learning and improving skills, effective drills and developing proper work habits. Athletes place into groups based on age and ability. Players also have the opportunit­y to learn about other positions during specialty groups. Coachto-athlete ration is 1:12. Neal Memorial Baskeball Project: Honoring a 2000 Rondout High graduate who died in 2001. The Rosendale Town Board granted permission for the Rosendale Recreation’s Basketball Court to be named in his honor. The Committee is planning on several fundraiser­s to raise the quoted cost of $15,000 to refurbish the court with a new black top, striping and a plaque, which needs to be raised by May 15. The dedication is scheduled for June 3. Additional­ly, a percentage of donations will go to the American Lung Associatio­n in the name of Neal, who suffered from asthma. YMCA offers two 1-week session at Camp Seewackama­no in Shokan. Dates are July 1014 and Aug. 14-18. Times are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Campers develop mountain bike skills through trail rides and games and spend four days offsite at trail locations (which may include Lippman Park, Ferncliff Forest, Elm Ridge, Lake Minnewaska State Park and others). Basic safety and maintenanc­e as well as environmen­tal responsibi­lities that come with outdoor recreation are covered. A geared bike in good working order with off-road tires measuring at least 2 inches in width, plus helmet are required. This is an intermedia­te level program and not intended for beginners. Camper-staff ratio is 8-1. Camp fees are $325 per week.
