Catherine A. Sheehan, 85, of Melbourne, Fla.

Catherine A. Sheehan, (Kay), 85, a former resident of Rosendale, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Florida.

She was the daughter of the late Christina and Edgar Warren.

She married the late Robert J. Sheehan in October 1954.

Catherine graduated with a R.N. degree from Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. She was employed by Rondout Valley Central School District as a school nurse for 10 years. She was active in the Rosendale-Tillson American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Rosendale Women’s Club, and a was member of the Die Bergvagabunden Schuhplattler German dance group.

She is survived by her four sons, Robert and Kathryn Sheehan, Kevin and Sandy Sheehan, Brian Sheehan, Timothy and Elaine Sheehan; and one daughter, Kathleen and Bryan Helton; her grandchildren, Robert, Geoffrey, Terrance, Timothy, Andrew and Ryan Sheehan, Erik Johansen, Lexi and Cassandra Woinoski and William Helton; two greatgrandchildren, Jordan and Timothy; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Terrance Sheehan, and a brother, William Warren.

A memorial service will be held in Rosendale at a later date.
