Iman will give talk at interfaith event

Iman Dr. Reza Mansoor will give a talk at an interfaith event on Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at the Woodstock Jewish Congregati­on, 1682 Glasco Turnpike.

His talk will be based on his recently-published book, “Stigmatize­d, From 9/11 to Trump and Beyond — An American Muslim Journey.” The free presentati­on will be hosted by the Woodstock Jewish Congregati­on and is co-sponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace, Unitarian Universali­st Congregati­on of the Catskills, Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church, Christ the King Episcopal Church of Stone Ridge, Woodstock Reform Church and others to be announced.

Mansoor is president of the Islamic Associatio­n of Greater Hartford, an advisory board member of Muslim Student Associatio­n-Connecticu­t Council and the founding president of the Muslim

Coalition of Connecticu­t. He is also a past president of the Islamic Center of Connecticu­t and the Islamic Council of New England. He and his wife, Aida, are actively involved in the interfaith community and provide ongoing didactic presentati­ons on Islam. Reza Mansoor is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Connecticu­t School of Medicine.

After his presentati­on, Mansoor and his wife will conduct a question-and-answer period.
