Iman will give talk at interfaith event
Iman Dr. Reza Mansoor will give a talk at an interfaith event on Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, 1682 Glasco Turnpike.
His talk will be based on his recently-published book, “Stigmatized, From 9/11 to Trump and Beyond — An American Muslim Journey.” The free presentation will be hosted by the Woodstock Jewish Congregation and is co-sponsored by Jewish Voice for Peace, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Catskills, Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church, Christ the King Episcopal Church of Stone Ridge, Woodstock Reform Church and others to be announced.
Mansoor is president of the Islamic Association of Greater Hartford, an advisory board member of Muslim Student Association-Connecticut Council and the founding president of the Muslim
Coalition of Connecticut. He is also a past president of the Islamic Center of Connecticut and the Islamic Council of New England. He and his wife, Aida, are actively involved in the interfaith community and provide ongoing didactic presentations on Islam. Reza Mansoor is also an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
After his presentation, Mansoor and his wife will conduct a question-and-answer period.
