Kingston posts win in regular-season finale

Kingston High’s boys lacrosse team closed out its regular season by holding off Valley Central, 9-7, on Senior Night at Dietz Stadium. Josh Timbrouck recorded three goals and an assist for the Tigers.

KINGSTON, N.Y. » Kingston High’s boys lacrosse team closed out its regular season Tuesday, holding off Valley Central, 9-7, on Senior Night at Dietz Stadium.

The Tigers honored 11 seniors before the Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n Division I match.

Josh Timbrouck had three goals and an assist, Pete Collins two goals and one assists and Aidan LoBianco scored twice for the Tigers. Teige O’Brien added a goal, and Drew Carpino had a goal and an assist for Kingston.

The Tigers finished the regular campaign with a 14-2 record and await the start of next week’s Section 9, Class A tournament.

Paul Vasquez and Randy Rosario scored two goals each, and Mike Guaragno and Austin Adler both had a goal and one assist for (7-9) Valley Central. Matt Abtangelo added a goal, and Pete Heurich dished out two assists for the visitors.

“We could be playing them again on Monday,” said Kingston coach Casey Westerman, referring to the tourney’s first round.

At Red Hook, Mikey Gilderslee­ve had four goals and an assist to lift the (11-5) Raiders to the victory.

Brian Kelly and Tyler Kehoe scored goals and Dallas Hooton had a pair of assists, while Owen Sagerman had an assist in the win. Liam Quinlan made 15 saves for Red Hook.

Jesse Weaver (two assists) and Roger Hegeman scored two goals each for the (115) Huskies, while Christian Canino rounded the scoring with a goal. Giorgio D’Angelo stopped 11 shots in the loss.
