Rondout clinches divisional crown
Mary Gersac shot a 46 to earn comedalist honors as Rondout Valley High squeezed by Ellenville with a 165-166 victory at par 34 Shawangunk Country Club on Wednesday to claim the Orange County Interscholastic Association Division IV girls golf title. Ailene Lynch carded a 58 and Shilo Cole added a 61 for the (11-1) Ganders, who squeezed out the victory despite being without their best player, reigning Ulster County Women’s Golf Association champion, Amber Pennington, who was unavailable for the match. Camryn Hoar equaled Gersac with a career-low 46, while Julie Stephens shot a 59 and Meghan Eckert tacked on a 61 for the (7-6) Devils in the loss. New Paltz sweeps
At Highland, New Paltz swept a triangular match with a 158. Monroe-Woodbury had a 158 and Highland carded a 192 at Apple Greens.
Alex Cymbal shot a 46 to earn medalist honors, while Aracely Watson carded a 49 and Kayla Morrison added a 63 to lead the (14-2) Huguenots. Cate Armstrong led the Crusaders with a 54, while Jessica Lench contributed a 61 and Jeri Montel added a 68. At Highland, Devon Anderson shot a 52 at Apple Greens to earn medalist honors, but the (2-8) Eagles fell to the Dukes.
Grace Messenger shot a 53; Emma Messenger carded a 56 and Caidyn Ludwigsen had a 59 to lead Marlboro.
Maddie Mood (64) and Allison Korn (69) rounded out the scoring for Onteora.
