Memorial Day, a national holiday that pays tribute to the nation’s war dead, is Monday, May 29.

Here’s a rundown of announced area parades and other observance­s announced to date:

• Olive: Parade and ceremony beginning 9:30 a.m., Monday, May 29, at the West Shokan Post Office, Route 28A. The parade will proceed to Town Hall on Watson Hollow Road and the pavilion in Davis Park.
