The following items are based on informatio­n provided by officials in law enforcemen­t and the criminal justice system.

City of Kingston

· Drugs: Kasheem T. Smith, 29, of Kingston, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies and the department’s K9 unit at about 2 p.m. Saturday after a traffic stop on Abby Street for a traffic violation and was charged with the felony of possession of a controlled substance (two counts) and with making an improper left turn, a violation. Smith was found to be in possession of 3.5 ounces of cocaine and more than $3,700. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Athens

· Drugs: An 18-year-old Ravena male was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 11 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 9W and charged with misdemeano­r possession of marijuana. The teen was released with a ticket for Athens Town Court. State police did not release the suspect’s name because of his age.

Catskill

· Drugs: Robert C. Davenport, 35, of Coxsackie, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 7:17 a.m. Sunday on West Bridge Street in the village and charged with misdemeano­r possession of a controlled substance and with the violations of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container. Davenport was released with a ticket for Catskill Village Court.

· Possession of stolen

property: Alyssa O’Neil, 22, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 3:42 p.m. Thursday at Catskill Village Court, 422 Main St., and charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property (a credit card). O’Neil was released with a ticket for Catskill Village Court.

· Possession of stolen property: Felicia Olivett, 48, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at Catskill Village Court, 422 Main St., and charged with felony criminal possession of stolen property (a credit card). Olivett was released with a ticket for Catskill Village Court.

Rosendale

· Drugs: Sebastian E. Avilan-Medina, 25, of Middletown, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies after Rosendale police conducted a traffic stop on state Route 32 on May 30 and charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and with the violation of crossing over hazard markings. Rosendale police contacted the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcemen­t Narcotics Team after seeing a large sum of money and an unknown wax-like substance in the vehicle. Avilan-Medina was found to be in possession of more than 5 ounces of concentrat­ed cannabis oil and $35,000. He was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Saugerties

· Criminal contempt: Dell S. Deangelis, 23, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 6:53 p.m. Sunday in the town and charged with felony criminal contempt for violating an order of protection and with misdemeano­r assault with physical injury. Deangelis was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

· DWI/drugs: Lukas M. Suter-Winter, 26, of West Saugerties Road, Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties police at 6:57 p.m. Sunday on Kings Highway in the town and was charged with the misdemeano­rs of drunken driving and driving while ability impaired by drugs, the violation of possession of marijuana, and the violations of cracked windshield, failure to signal, driving too slow and impeding traffic and failing to notify the Department of Motor Vehicles of a change of address. Suter-Winter’s arrest followed a call to 911 reporting a vehicle driving at about 10 mph on Kings Highway in a 55 mph zone with about 15-20 vehicles stuck behind it. After stopping Suter-Winter, police detected a strong odor of marijuana. He was released with a ticket for Saugerties Town Court and his driver’s license was suspended pending a court appearance.

Town of Ulster

· DWI: John P. Stapleton, 23, of Port Ewen, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 6:48 p.m. Sunday on Ulster Avenue and charged with the misdemeano­rs of driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent and drunken driving, and with the infraction­s of moving from lane unsafely and a seat belt violation. Stapleton was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court. · DWI: Robert T. Horton, 60, of Saugerties, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 6:44 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 209 and charged with the misdemeano­rs of aggravated driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.18 percent and drunken driving, and with the infraction of failing to maintain lane. Horton was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court. · DWI: Michelle L. Neumann, 46, of Kingston, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 2:25 a.m. Saturday on state Route 28 and charged with the misdemeano­rs of drunken driving, aggravated driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.18 percent and aggravated unlicensed driving, and with the infraction of failing to signal a turn. Neumann was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court. · Shopliftin­g: Susan M. Hunter, 35, and Sean R. McAnaw, 33, both of Kingston, were arrested by town of Ulster police at 9:30 p.m. Saturday and were charged with the misdemeano­r of petit larceny. According to Walmart store asset protection at 601 Frank E. Sottile Blvd., Hunter left the store without paying for $82.63 worth of merchandis­e. A short time later, McAnaw re-entered the store with the merchandis­e that Hunter stole and requested a refund. McAnaw obtained a gift card after completing the fraudulent merchandis­e return. Both were released with tickets for Ulster Town Court.
