Camps Senators Softball Camp: For ages 7-189a.m.-4p.m. July 18-20at SUNY Ulster. Led by Rick Spriggs. Camp focuses on basic fundamentals in addition to intense work on learning and improving skills, effective drills and developing proper work habits. Athletes place into groups based on age and ability. Players also have the opportunity to learn about other positions during specialty groups. Coach-to-athlete ration is 1:12. Bring a glove, bat, baseball hat, long athletic pants and footwear (rubber spikes/sneakers). Catchers should bring chest protector, helmet, shin guards and face mask if they have them. Don’t forget topical insect repellent and sun block (not spray form). Class Number CFK 145801. Cost: $150. Junior Tennis Camp: For ages 8-169a.m.-3p.m. July 3, 5, 6& 7at SUNY Ulster. Led by longtime Onteora High coach Peter Fein. Camp provides instruction fro all levels from beginner to high school varsity player. Morning instruction includes work on strokes and footwork through drills. Athletes are taught strategy, technique and sportsmanship in the afternoon through challenging games and matches. Coach-to-athlete ration is 1:5. Arrive dressed to play. Sneakers and hat are required. Racquets are available if needed. Don’t forget topical insect repellent and sun block (not spray form). Class Number CFK 147304. Cost: $235. for Kids: For kids age 6-1611a,m.-2p.m. starting week of July 3and continues throughout the summer at the club, located on Sawkill Road across from the old Zena Elementary School. Learn proper technique, have fun and be able to play with proper scoring and strategy. Players should wear appropriate attire, loose fitting clothes (no jeans), shorts and sneaker with good support., Cost is $55a day or $200for the four days.
