HVFCU earns ‘CEO Cancer Gold’ accreditation

Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union has received accreditation as a “CEO Cancer Gold Standard” employer for the sixth year by the CEO Roundtable on Cancer. The nonprofit CEO Roundtable on Cancer developed and administers the Gold Standard, an employee wellness accreditation program that addresses cancer in the workplace.

The Roundtable reviews 17 standards in five specific areas: prevention; screening; cancer clinical trials; quality treatment and “survivorship”; and health education/health promotion.

Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union met all 17 standards, which includes: maintaining a tobacco-free workplace; encouraging and providing coverage for tobacco-cessation programs; sustaining a culture that values, enables and supports physical activity and healthy food choices; and providing staff with information on the importance of cancer prevention, screening, clinical trials and quality treatment to enable and encourage appropriate behaviors.
