No arrests made in Friday night shooting

KINGSTON, N.Y. » City police have not made an arrest in connection with a Friday night shooting in Midtown that left a man wounded, authoritie­s said Sunday.

Kingston Police Sgt. Anthony Burkert said late Sunday morning that authoritie­s continue to investigat­e the incident. He would not provide further details about the investigat­ion.

On Saturday, Kingston Police Lt. Thierry Croizer said the 45-year-old victim, who was shot once in the back, was released from the hospital. He did not identify the victim.

Police were called to Franklin and Prospect streets around 11:20 p.m. on Friday, where they found the victim, who they believe was involved in an altercatio­n near Van Buren and Prospect streets.

At some point during the altercatio­n, several shots were fired, once of which struck the victim. Police said the victim fled to the area of Franklin and Furnace streets, about two blocks away, where he was found by police.

Kingston police are asking anyone with informatio­n about the incident to call them at (845) 331-1671 or to email breyes@kingston-ny.gov.
