Ida Strini Maloy, 93, of Ellenville

ELLENVILLE » Ida Strini Maloy, daughter of the late Bonfiglio and Maria Larini Strini, was born on June 29, 1923 and passed away in the comforting presence of her family on June 18, 2017 at the home of her daughter Anne in Stone Ridge, N.Y. Ida had resided at Mountain Valley Manor in Kingston for the past four years She was the devoted wife of Robert A. Maloy who predecease­d her on April 6, 1994.

Ida, known to her friends as Edith, was born in Jefferson, Mass., and lived a full and busy life. She was a proud valedictor­ian of her Ellenville High School class. After living on her own in N.Y.C., she met Robert and settled in Ellenville to raise their six children.She was employed in the office of Kaiser and Murray in Ellenville for many years as well as catered at the Shawangunk Country Club. Ida was active in her children’s and grandchild­ren’s lives, her church (St Mary and St Andrew, and Saint Joseph) and many volunteer positions. She was a past member of the Ellenville Hospital and Benedictin­e Hospital Auxiliarie­s and loved family get-togethers, travel, trips to the seashore and her membership at the local YMCA until the age of 91.

She is survived by her son, Bernard (Donna) of Louisville Tenn., Mary (Albert) of New Have, Conn., Anne Dadarria (Tony) of Stone Ridge, N.Y., Karen Brady (Kevin) of Gardiner, N.Y., Teresa Enty (David) of Endwell, N.Y.; her grandchild­ren include, Sean Maloy, Scott Maloy, Peter Dadarria, Tim Dadarria, Kristin Enty and Taylor Enty; as well as great-grandchild­ren, Braylon, Mason, Bowen and Roman Maloy.

Ida was predecease­d by her husband, Robert; daughter, Nancy; parents, brothers, Robert and Bruno Strini; and many other family and friends.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive relatives and friends at A. Carr. & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Avenue, Kingston, N.Y., 12401 on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 242 Wall St., Kingston, N.Y., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Fantinekil­l Cemetery in Ellenville, N.Y.
