-

Frank Peters, 58, of Partition Street, died Monday, June 19, 2017, at Kingston Hospital.

Born June 20, 1958, in Kingston, he was the son of the late Hermann and Maria Peters. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired employee of McDonald’s of Saugerties. A fixture in Saugerties, he was an avid baseball fan and would spend numerous hours at Cantine Field, rooting for and coaching the Saugerties Dutchmen, Saugerties American Legion, and more recently the Saugerties Stallions. All his favorite ballplayers were called “Tiger” which would put a smile on the recipient’s face. He would make his way around town by bicycle with ear phones on to the sounds of The Beatles. He taught himself to play the guitar and oftentimes would entertain spectators with his talents.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary-Ann (James) Bashwinger of Medusa and Peggy (Darrin) Sweeney of Saugerties; one brother, Hans Peters of Florida; and sister-in-law, Lorraine Peters of Saugerties. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

He was predeceased by a brother, Ernie Peters, and a nephew, Jacob Sweeney.

Friends will be received Sunday 7 to 9 p.m. at Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets. Family suggests donations in his name be made to the Ulster County SPCA. Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com.
