Dorothy E. George, 73, of Mount Marion

MOUNT MARION » Dorothy E. George, 73, of Town Road, died Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at Northern Dutchess Hospital.

Born June 4, 1944, on Staten Island, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Sadie Rotanz. A graduate of St. Louis Academy in Staten Island, she was a retired employee of the Rondout Valley Central School in Accord. Family was very important to Dorothy, and she enjoyed raising birds.

Survivors include four daughters, Denise Santoro of Wawarsing, Deborah George of Kingston, Melanie Mollica of Red Hook, and Kelly Wynne of Mount Marion; son-in- law, William Maloney; two grandchildren, Michael Brunson and Kylee Mollica; two step-grandchildren, Ethan and Gianna Maloney; and two sisters, Eileen McCarthy and Susie Roberts. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was predeceased by a brother, Philip Rotanz.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at SeamonWilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette streets, Saugerties. Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
