- Freeman staff

The Kingston Stockade FC looks to bounce back from last week’s loss to the Brooklyn Italians as it takes to the road today.

Stockade heads to Portland, Maine to play the Seacoast United Mariners in a 3 p.m. National Premier Soccer League contest.

Kingston leads a threeway race in the NPSL’s Atlantic White Conference with a 5-2-1 record. It is in first place, two points ahead of Boston City FC and four up on Hartford City FC. The top three teams in the conference advance to the playoffs with the No. 1 team drawing a first-round bye.

Stockade had its sixmatch unbeaten (5-0-1) streak when it lost 1-0 to Brooklyn on a last-second stoppage-time goal.

The (2-4-1) Mariners come off a 2-2 tie with the New York Athletic Club.

Kingston has just four matches left to the regular season. It plays the Mariners at Dietz Stadium 5 p.m. July 1 and the TSF Academy in a 6 p.m. match July 3 at Dietz. The regular-season finale has Stockade in a big showdown with Boston City on July 8. The playoffs begin July 12.
