OUTDOORS Trailsweepers Snow and Sports Club: Open to new members of all ages. Camp focuses on basic fundamentals in addition to intense work on learning and improving skills, effective drills and developing proper work habits. Athletes place into groups based on age and ability. Players also have the opportunity to learn about other positions during specialty groups. Coach-to-athlete ration is 1:12. Bring a glove, bat, baseball hat, long athletic pants and footwear (rubber spikes/ sneakers). Catchers should bring chest protector, helmet, shin guards and face mask if they have them. Morning instruction includes work on strokes and footwork through drills. Athletes are taught strategy, technique and sportsmanship in the afternoon through challenging games and matches. Woodstock Tennis Club’s Summer Camp for Kids: For kids age 6-16 11 a,m.-2 p.m. starting week of July 3 and continues throughout the summer at the club, located on Sawkill Road across from the old Zena Elementary School. Learn proper technique, have fun and be able to play with proper scoring and strategy. Players should wear appropriate attire, loose fitting clothes (no jeans), shorts and sneaker with good support., Cost is $55 a day or $200 for the four days. Students are separated into groups by age and/or ability level. Limited to 18 players. Doubles events are Open men’s, women’s and mixed doubles; Senior (45 and older) men’s, women’s and mixed; Super Senior (60 and older) mixed; 3.5 men’s, women’s and mixed. Singles events are Open, Senior and 3.5 men’s and women. Fee: $25 for each singles, $50 for each doubles. Youth Programs Kingston Recreation NJTL Program: 6-week for ages 6-18 runs from week of June 26 to week of July 29. Program is held Mondays and Wednesdays at Loughran Park from 9-11 a.m. (ages 6-10) and noon-2 p.m. (11-18), plus from noon-2 p.m. at Hutton Park (all ages). It is also offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at Forsyth Park from 9-11 a.m. (ages 6-10) and noon-2 p.m. (11-18). Fee: $40 for City of Kingston residents and $50 for non-residents.
