Senior groups list meeting schedules

The Town of Ulster Senior Club will meet Thursday, July 13, at the Town of Ulster Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.

Refreshments will be served at 12:30 p.m. The meeting will start at 1 p.m.

The club will have its annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by Stewart’s Shops. Also at the meeting, reservations for the club picnic at Robert E. Post Memorial Park in Kingston.

The group’s meetings are a time for friendship, socialization and the sharing of ideas. New members are always welcome.

After the meetings, those who wish to stay can play bingo.

ROSENDALE, N.Y. »

The Rosendale Seniors will have a social meeting on Wednesday, July 12, at 1 p.m. at the Rosendale Recreation Center, Route 32.

An auction is planned. Members are asked to bring a new wrapped item in to be auctioned off.

An executive board meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the center. It will be followed by a business meeting at 1 p.m.

Reservations are being taken for the upcoming trip to Silver Biches in Hawley, Pa., on July, 19. The theme for the show is “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” The cost is $50 per person.

Reservations are also being taken for the Branson Show Extravaganza from Aug. 26 to Sept. 3. The cost is $799 per person, double occupancy.

AARP Chapter No. 2039 will have its annual picnic at George Freer Park on Wednesday, July 12, at noon.

The picnic will include an auction. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a wrapped gift worth $5 to be auctioned off to benefit the group’s scholarship program.

The board and the group will not meet in August.

A trip to Octoberfest at the Brownstone in Paterson, N.J., will take place Friday, Oct. 13, with the bus leaving Kingston Plaza at 9 a.m. The event will be a celebration of auction with Alex Meixner and his band, along with authentic German dancing and bell ringing. There will be a family-style lunch, with two complimentary drinks.

The cost is $85 per person. Full payment and sign up must be made by Tuesday, July 25. Checks should be made payable to AARP Chapter No, 2039.
