18U Ulster Fillies take second in tournament

The Kingston American Legion Post 150 Ulster Fillies 18U softball team went 3-2 and placed second in the Silver bracket at the recent Tradition College Showcase.

Mass Xtreme defeated the Fillies 12-4 in the Silver bracket final, with Skyler Sprance (double, single) Kacie Allison (two singles), Claire Filak (double, RBI), Jacorra Webb (single), Kelsey Trudden (single), Karley Giancola (single) and Angela Van Pelt (single) leading the Ulster offense.

The Fillies advanced to the final with a dramatic 5-3 win over the CT Raiders. Sprance hit a walk-off triple to end the game after Ulster loaded the bases on singles by Giancola, Van Pelt and Kiana Harris.

Ulster began eliminatio­n play with a 4-0 victory over Mass Drifters-Bridgeport. Van Pelt (two triples, two RBI), Giancola (two singles), Webb (double), Trudden (single, RBI), Sprance (single) and winning pitcher Allison (single, RBI) led the Fillies.

The Fillies opened a rainshorte­d, two-game pool play with a 7-5 loss to the East Coast Force. Trudden (two doubles, two RBI), Webb (double, single, two RBI), Mariel Mustello (two singles), Harris (two singles), Nielsen (double) and Adrianna Crimi paced the Fillies’ offense in the loss.

Allison recorded the victory in a 3-2 win over the Mass Drifters-Taunton. Trudden (three singles, one RBI), Van Pelt (two triples, RBI) Webb (double, RBI) Mustello (single) and Allison (single) paced the offense.
