Medication interaction focus of program
TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. » The Ulster County Office for the Aging and The Institute for Family Health will present a program titled “Senior Lunch and Learn Medication Reconciliation 101” on Thursday, July 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Business Resource Center, 1 Development Court.
The program will focus on the unique effects of medication on older adults and how medications can interact with one another. Dr. Tiffany Pica, Dr. Sharona Avgush and Dr. Nosheen Nazakat, physician residents from the Institute for Family Health, will be on hand for individual medication reviews.
Those planning to attend should bring their medications and dosage list for a private one-onone review of their medications. For Ulster County seniors who missed the presentation on Jan. 31, an RSVP is a must, as space is limited. Call the Office for the Aging at (845) 3403456 to RSVP or for more information.
Driver safety class takes place Aug. 12
LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. » An AARP driver safety class will be offered Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Russell Brott Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.
Sign in is at 8:30 a.m., with the class starting at 9 a.m. The class has a sixhour format, but could run longer.
The cost to attend is $25, $20 for AARP members. To register, call (845) 339-7885 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Seating is very limited, and preregistration is required. all are welcome to attend. There are no membership or age requirements.
Successful completion of the course qualifies participants for insurance discounts and points off their driver’s licenses.
