Lineup taking shape for this year's O+ Festival
Organizers of the October event have released a first list of participating musicians and artists.
Musical acts from New York City and Washington, D.C., will join local performers at this year’s eighth annual O+ Festival, organizers announced Wednesday.
The festival, billed as a “weekend of art, music, wellness and community,” is scheduled for Oct. 6-8 at various locations in Kingston. It will feature more than 50 bands and 20 visual, installation and performance artists.
Other highlights of the festival will include the popular kickoff parade; classes in yoga, dance and meditation and more; cycling events for all skill levels; a wellness expo; and a home economics conference.
Seven artists will create seven murals based on the theme “Home” in Uptown, Midtown and, for the first time, Downtown Kingston. The Downtown mural will be painted at the Hudson River Maritime Museum by Kingston native and O+ alumnus Matthew Pleva.
Other mural locations will be announced in the weeks ahead. Artists will include Nanibah “Nani” Chacon of Albuquerque, N.M., Vince Ballentine of Brooklyn and Jai Sung of Brooklyn.
