The MidHudson Rebels 12U softball team went 6-0, including a walk-off 4-3 victory over the Tri-County Thunder in the final to capture the recent Ulster Fillies Frenzy tournamrnt championship at Cantine Field.

Emma Haller drove in Abbie Naccarato with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning to secure the title win for the Rebels. Reliever Trista Lukaszewski recorded the win for Mid-Hudson, while starter Gigi Koch allowed two runs on three hits over 4-plus innings.

Trailing 3-2, Tri-County tied the score on a passed ball in the top of the seventh to set the stage for the Rebels’ heroics. Mid-Hudson then loaded the bases, with Naccarato reaching on error, followed by infield hits by Mackenzie Sullivan and Cadie Sickler before Haller won the game.

In the back-and-forth game, the Rebels took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a Sickler fielder’s choice that drove in Sullivan and an RBI single by Barrett Holsapple that drove in Haller, who had tripled. The Thunder responded in the fifth with a pair of runs to tie the score.

Lukaszewski drove in Koch on a fielder’s choice in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead.

Mid-Hudson reached the final with a 4-0 victory over the Lady Bobcats, as Lukaszewski tossed a complete-game, 1-hitter. Mckenna Fairley scored the Rebels’ first two runs — the first on an RBI groundout by Audrey Werba in the second inning; the second on a wild pitch in the fourth. Koch’s two-run single driving in Haller and Holsapple rounded the Rebels’ scoring. A 6-4-3 double play turned by Haller, Rachel Hoyt and Fairley helped stop a potential Bobcats’ rally.

The Rebels earned the top seed in pool play with victories over the host Fillies (12-1), the Beacon Xtreme (14-1) and the Hudson Valley Panthers (190) before advancing to the semifinals in elimination play with an 18-2 victory over Beacon.
