Book sale at Rhinebeck library on Aug. 11, 12
WHAT: Book sale WHEN: Aug. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Starr Library, 68. W. Market St., Rhinebeck
DETAILS: The library’s book sale will feature books on schools’ summer reading lists and many, many classics. There will also be an amazing collection of art books. As usual, there are well-sorted collections of fiction and non-fiction and outstanding books for children. Older fiction will be 50 cents. Non-fiction and newer fiction will be $3. Trade paperbacks will be $2. Children’s paperbacks will be four for $1 and hardcovers will be $1. In addition, there will be lots of young adult books from 25 cents. The sale will be sponsored by Friends of Starr Library.

Great American Songbook Singalong in Kingston on July 23
WHAT: Great American Songbook Singalong WHEN: July 23 at 3 p.m.
WHERE: Congregational Emanuel of the Hudson Valley, 243 Albany Ave., Kingston
DETAILS: The singalong will feature the songs of Julie Styne. They will include “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” “Five Minutes More,” “Just in Time,” “The Party’s Over,” “People,” “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “Time After Time,” “Let It Snow” and many more. Admission is free. Refreshments will be served. Lyric sheets will be available.
