DeForesst second at N.Y. State Open

Chris DeForest of Cottekill placed second in the New York State Open golf tournament, losing on a second playoff hole at the Bethpage State Park’s Black Course to Cameron Young.

DeForest, a Rondout Valley High graduate, shot a 9-under-par 69-6768—204 for the three-day tourney.
