All-electric Chevy Bolt gets coming out party at local dealer

-

The all-electric Chevrolet Bolt, which recently began arriving at New York dealerships, will have a coming out party Thursday at Romeo Chevy Buick GMC.

The event, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the dealership on U.S. Route 9W, will include General Motors representatives. Attendees with a valid driver’s license will be offered a test drive.

The Bolt has been very well-received by the motoring press, has a reported range of 238 miles per charge and the ability to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds.

The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV won the Green Car Reports 2017 Best Car To Buy award last November. In its evaluation, CNET.com summarized the Bolt as “an extraordinary (electric vehicle) built for ordinary people with classleading range that nearly eliminates range anxiety.”

The Bolt will compete in the domestic market with the newly announced Tesla 3.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the Bolt is $37,495, minus dealer fees, with a federal tax credit of $7,500 pulling the consumer’s cost to just below $30,000. Dealer prices in March were found by Automotive News to range wildly, from more than $4,000 off sticker to dealers who have charged premiums of $5,000 over MSRP.
